CAMP ROCK

Take time out for camp this summer! “Camp Rock” is the latest Disney Channel original movie, aimed primarily toward teens but fun for the whole family, premiering June 20, 2008. Unlike “High School Musical,” which created superstars out of its performers, “Camp Rock” stars the Jonas Brothers, already superstars in their own right, along with up and coming Disney sensation Demi Lovato.

The “Camp Rock” soundtrack is coming to CD on June 17th from Walt Disney Records and features thirteen original songs in various styles of rock.

The movie itself has some great songs such as “believe in yourself,” “express yourself,” and “be proud of who you are,” and those messages are evident in the lyrics of some of the songs. A perfect example is “Here I Am” performed by Renee Sandstrom.

The “Camp Rock” CD comes with a booklet containing all the lyrics to the songs, so whether you want to sing along or just take a closer look at the lyrics it’s an always appreciated inclusion.

Another thing that “Camp Rock” has is additional exclusive content when you pop it into your computer. “Unlock More Rock” wasn’t working for me, presumably because it accesses online content and the CD at that point was not yet released, but it appears that you’ll get an exclusive acoustic version of Demi Lovato’s “This Is Me.”
