PROM
Release date: August 30, 2011
Blu-ray version (some materials may not
appear on the DVD version)
To high school seniors, the prom just might seem like it will be the most important day of their lives, and
with that in mind, we witness their path that lead to the big event. The theme of a prom made me skeptical if the film would be suitable for my young children, but with the exception of a small fight scene, it is tame enough for even the youngest children.
In general, the storyline observes the lives of students, some with intriguing storylines, and some which seem to be no more than simple, although sometimes humorous, observations. The storyline featuring the characters portrayed by Aimee Teegarden and Thomas McDonell is
at the center of the film, and what really delivers the "heart."
(Right, my conversations with some of the cast)
BONUS FEATURES:
SPOILER ALERT: Don’t watch LAST CHANCE LLOYD (10:19) until after you have seen the main movie. Having said that, “Last Chance Lloyd” is a funny featurette that focuses on the character Lloyd, and some of his relentless efforts to find a girl who will accompany him to the prom. It’s easy to sympathize with the self-proclaimed loser. After all, “loser” is in the eye of the beholder.
Although not really a “making of” featurette, PUTTING ON PROM (5:59) offers some
fun and entertaining insight from the cast and crew of the film.
Although there’s only about two and a half minutes of BLOOPERS (2:23), they managed to pack in some pretty humorous ones.
There are four choices for DELETED SCENES (7:44) with introductions by Directory Joe Nussbaum and producer Justin Springer. The scenes are interesting but pretty quick, although the introductions are entertaining as well.
There are seven MUSIC VIDEOS from the film’s soundtrack which includes both an English and Spanish version of “We Could Be Anything,” both performed by cast member Nolan Sotillo.
Hope this helped you know the PROMinent features of the “Prom” Blu-ray.
