OLD DOGS
DVD release date: March 9, 2010
Blu-ray version (some materials may not
appear on the DVD version)
When you have a comedy with Robin Williams, you’re going to laugh. Then throw in Hollywood legend John Travolta for good measure and some slapstick… I mean A LOT of slapstick… did I mention slapstick? And you’ve got the comedy Old Dogs.
Old Dogs tells the “tail” of two best friends who suddenly find themselves taking care of seven year old twins, making for a completely off-the-wall comedy. The cast also includes Kelly Preston, Seth Green, Matt Dillon, and, in her screen debut, Ella Bleu Travolta, the real life daughter of Travolta and Preston.
BONUS FEATURES:
Gotta have AUDIO COMMENTARY, and this one features director Walt Becker, producer Andrew Panay and writers David Diamond and David Weissman.
In YOUNG DOGS LEARN OLD TRICKS (2:51), the two kids from the film try out their interview tactics. Conner Rayburn interviews Robin Williams and Ella Travolta interviews her dad, John to find out a few things like their favorite scenes, and what was it like working with each other.
As is typical with many of Disney’s DVDs, the BLOOPERS (2:26) are a fast-paced montage of outtakes. Looks like they really had some fun!
There are three DELETED SCENES, one of which includes is alternate ending for the film.
There two MUSIC VIDEOS. “You’ve Been a Friend To Me” from the film’s soundtrack, is an artisy video performed by Bryan Adams, and “Every Little Step” is performed by John and Ella Bleu Travolta utilizes clips from the film. A lot of people may not think of John Travolta as a singer, but he sure didn’t do too shabby a job in Grease, and he also showed his singing chops in Disney’s Bolt. This is a cute father/daughter music video.
So that’s what’s new with Old Dogs.
