DWINNIE THE POOH: A VALENTINE FOR YOU
DVD release date: January 5, 2010

Love is in the air, or at least on DVD in Winnie the Pooh: A Valentine For You.

This 22 minute traditionally animated tale first aired in 1999, telling of the time in which Christopher Robin is making a Valentine card for someone else, and thus the bear of very little brain and his woodland companions worry that perhaps he is in love and will no longer have time for them.

The second program is “Un-Valentine’s Day.” This 27 and a half minute piece was originally an episode of the TV series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1989, and is presented here without the opening titles and theme song. After Pooh has given out much too many Valentine’s cards, this year Rabbit bans Valentine’s Day.

There’s yet another episode to be found under BONUS FEATURES, and this one includes the show’s main titles.

“My Hero” is a ten and a half minute BONUS EPISODE about where Piglet unintentionally comes to the aid of Tigger, causing Tigger to think Piglet saved his life. And then, in the grand tradition of silly sitcoms, Tigger vows to become Piglet’s servant… much to the dismay of the little hero.

Last up is the CATCH THE LOVE BUG GAME. No, this has nothing to do with the little Volkswagen named Herbie, that’s a different Love Bug. In this one, the “love bug” is a firefly that Pooh and pals believe are love bugs in the A Valentine For You episode. You can use your remote control to click on a jar as the firefly-like “love bug” flies around the screen.

Hope you enjoyed me getting to the heart of the matter to let you know what’s on this DVD.
