TIGGER & POOH AND A MUSICAL TOO
DVD release date: April 7, 2009

Tigger & Pooh and a Musical TooDeep in the Hundred Acre Wood… is a musical?! Now that Zac, Corbin, Vanessa, Ashley and the gang brought back the popularity of the musical, something I’m not at all disappointed about, it only seems fitting to take the Tigger & Pooh preschool series and turn it into a “full length” musical.

Full length? Well, that’s what the package reads. In reality, it’s an hour long.

The “movie” is cute and stays true to the My Friends, Tigger & Pooh series. The series, and this movie, is geared to preschoolers, and the storyline and the songs make that evident. But, if it’s intended to please the preschool audience, it succeeds… at least in this household. And even though it’s obviously intended for the youngest audience, it doesn’t annoy me to have it on when my children want to watch it, so at least it succeeds where Barney and Friends never did.

With only an hour long episode, I’m surprised there’s not a bonus episode of the series on here, but there are a couple BONUS FEATURES.

GAME TIME offers two additional ways to view the show. In either choice, the movie pauses and goes to a semi-related activity. In “Active Play,” the activity might ask them to stand up and move around or mime an action. The other way is “Interactive Play” which offers various activities that require use of the remote control such as choosing from multiple choice colors and images.

RABBIT’S THINK THINK THEATRE lets kids choose a song to sing in the “show” and then a setting. There are a few other selection activities leading up to the big show. This encourages your children to stand up and dance along.

So if you’re kids are into My Friends, Tigger & Pooh they’ll think this is just one hunny of a DVD.
