BEDTIME STORIES
DVD release date: April 7, 2009
Bedtime Stories is one movie that won’t put you to sleep.
I found it to be a fantastic film, and just what I’ve come to expect from Disney. It’s had me giggling and it’s wholesome and fun entertainment for the whole family.
BONUS FEATURES:
UNTIL GRAVITY DO US PART (4:00) takes you behind the scenes of one of the story sequences from the film… the one that takes place in an outer space station. I love seeing behind-the-scenes footage and this particular scene is interesting to watch because of the special effects. Most of the scene relies on blue screen technology which I’ve seen plenty of times, but this is still lots of fun to see. It’s more than just simple blue screen, but creating the effect of weightlessness as well. It’s an uplifting bonus feature. (I didn’t say that, did I? Ugh.)
TO ALL THE LITTLE PEOPLE (5:24) features the adorable kids of the film. This features on-screen interview segments of Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Courtney Cox and the kids, along with yet more behind-the-scenes footage. I didn’t like this piece. Just KIDding. (Get it? Oh, gosh. I’ve got to stop these puns.)
IT’S BUGSY (3:42) is about the freakishly bug-eyed guinea pig pet. Here you’ll see some behind the scenes footage of the scenes being shot with the real, non-bug-eyed guineas pigs, while we hear all about the cast’s stories about working with the one, the only… Bugsy!
LAUGHTER IS CONTAGIOUS: OUTTAKES (6:48) are a little better than bloopers and outtakes I’ve seen on other Disney DVDs. These are sure to get a chuckle out of you. Once again, I say that I wish that they expanded the segment and built up to the blooper rather than just getting to the part where Adam Sandler forgets his line or whatever. Sometimes I feel that the added background music actually takes away from the bloopers, but it’s better than nothing.
CUTTING ROOM FLOOR: DELETED SCENES (10:26) has some twelve deleted moments
including some scenes that might be best classified as mildly interesting
and some scenes that looked like what I remember from the movie and I
don't know what was deleted. Then there are a few scenes that
didn’t make it to the final film that are quite amusing.
All in all, this is a great DVD and a wonderful movie, so wake up and enjoy Bedtime Stories
