HANNAH MONTANA: KEEPING IT REAL

You’ve heard the news, it’s on all the websites, plastered on all newspapers, the talk of television. Hannah Montana has a new look! Okay, maybe not. After seeing the new cover of the “Hannah Montana: Keeping it Real” DVD I thought, “Wow, she does have a new look!” I was thinking about her face, but turns out that’s just a bad picture of her.

The “New Look” is simply a new wardrobe for when Miley portrays Hannah Montana. In fact, there’s a BLANK minute bonus feature on that subject. Someone in Disney Home Entertainment must really be into fashion because this marks the third Disney Channel DVD with a sole bonus feature about the show’s wardrobe. One memorable tie dyed dress in particular proves that Hannah Montana is this generation’s answer to Punky Brewster!

When you have a phenomenally successful show and a free ten minutes for a bonus feature, wardrobe isn’t the first thing that comes to my mind. Maybe a future release will serve up behind the scenes footage of what it takes to make the show.

The shows on this DVD are a great collection. There’s a fun filled episode featuring Corbin Bleu and for us older folks, Donny Osmond and Ray Romano. Another episode features Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who seems to be Disney’s latest adult superstar. He’s likeable and real and in this episode, a very good sport! Sheryl Lee Ralph, Meshach Taylor and Rachel York also pop up in episodes.

In addition the standard four episodes, there is an additional episode, the first season 3 episode on DVD, “Ready, Set, Don’t Drive.” If you haven't yet seen a season 3 episode on TV, it's got a very cool, fun new opening.

Once again, an enjoyable disc with a few well-selected episodes of the series about this girl who’s a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll!
