Disney Resort Ambassadors - Adonis Reeves Adonis Reeves

Interview from 2008

Scott Wolf: So here we are for a second interview. Now that it's over, what are some of your favorite memories from your year as Ambassador?

Adonis Reeves & Garnett SchoonoverAR: A few things actually, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, it was a classic return so that was great, so much fun with that. I think together, both of us, we probably accomplished 80 interviews just that one day. So we were ready to go to bed that night, that's for sure, and not talk for at least twenty four hours.

That was fun, just to be able to see that classic attraction come back with a whole new twist, technology, and having the subs be "green," environmentally safe, all that good stuff.

A couple things that stands out are that Garnett and I got to experience an Adventures By Disney vacation, which was going through a huge promotion last year, and so we went to Spain and spent ten days in Barcelona and Madrid, and just learning about the culture, and just being able to share the amazing offerings that are with Adventures By Disney, so that was probably a huge highlight.

This is just one of those things that make me smile when I think about it. I was so nervous the morning of "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage," just because I knew that there were so many interviews that day, I had a live hit with (local TV station) KTLA, all kinds of things were going on that morning. Things started at like 4am.

Adonis ReevesSo upstairs in the Ambassador office, we have all the pictures of the Ambassadors, all the way from Julie Reihm (the first Ambassador) all the way down to Andrae and Becky, our fiftieth anniversary Ambassadors. I remember that morning, it was totally dark and I get in the hallway and I see all these smiling faces and I was like, "You know what? If they did it, I can do it, and this is going to be good!" So I remember looking up at their pictures and saying, "Alright girls and boys... let's do it!" It was one of those things where it's like I have such a support team behind me and just being able to get together and do times like this is like, "Yes! This is why I'm here! This is what's exciting!" So it was good. That was a sweet memory for me to know, this is scary but yet it's done before and still going on, so that's great.

What did you do after you were Ambassador?

AR: Now I am in cast activities, so I am basically doing event planning for the cast. Everything, every event, award and recognition that comes to the cast comes out of cast activities, so it's a great next step, I'm also able to just spend more time with the cast which is a complete passion of mine, and just learning more about the company which you can never stop growing and learning it.

So that was good times.
