REMEMBERING
WALLY BOAG
1920-2011

by Scott Wolf

Wally Boag

The great Wally Boag was a comic genius. A vaudeville entertainer who first began entertaining Disneyland audiences in the "Golden Horseshoe Revue" in 1955. While he will mostly remembered for spitting out his teeth in the finale of that show, Wally did countless other projects for Disney. He helped write "Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room," for which he also provided the voice of Jose, the emcee bird. He appeared in television shows and movies for Disney, and would travel the world to entertain the troops or help promote Disney's latest film releases. Disneyland Cast Members got some extra helpings of Wally's humor when he was editor of the "Backstage" publication. He never lost his sense of humor. To give you an idea of this, the image that he used for his computer desktop wallpaper was a photo of his actual desktop that his computer sat on.

Sadly, Wally passed away on June 3, 2011. I hope you enjoy the photos and videos below.
